Well to get
technical the S never stood for supercharged (even though the '02-'06 cars are). Any Cooper S (except the convertible) from '07 on
is a turbo and an
S. Officially, the "S" doesn't stand for anything. I think the story goes that back in the day John Cooper and Alec Issigonis couldn't agree on Special or Super/Sport so they just called it the Cooper S.
