I believe the regular Powershift is rated for 38 highway vs. 40.
They're probably using every trick in the book to get the SFE to 39.5, and then round up. In the real world I wouldn't be surprised if the difference was a single MPG. If so, or even if it is two, the payback would be longer than you'll own the car unless you drive a huge number of miles. I seriously doubt the SFE is worth the money. Just a good MPG number for the ads.
I do wish someone could clear one thing up for me: does the regular Fiesta have no spare, but the SFE does? The Ford info suggests this is the case. Maybe because the regular tires are run flats (though this isn't stated), but for the SFT these are ditched to save rotating mass? Just a WAG, hoping for real info.
