I went with a Ground Control set-up on my BMW. Basically koni dampers, eibach springs, GC camber/castor plates and M3 lower control arms. Then I got Hotchkis sway bars. It is a very stiff ride and it was not cheap. I track maybe 2 times a year at most and if I had it to do over again, I would have chosen a more street friendly spring rate and probably kept the OEM sway bars. Since adding the Hotchkis sways....oh boy does my car stay flat around a corner....I cannot make my car lean on the streets. I think it will break traction or lift before it leans. On a nice mountain road, it is a joy, but not all roads are nice. I will probably be getting a different spring rate set-up to lessen the harsh ride and M3 sway bars or just go back to stock e90 sways if it is still too harsh after the new springs.

I am sure any coilover kit will make the car more stiff then stock and I am fine if H&R's kit does not go anywhere near a race set-up stiffness. I don't know if mress on post #14 actually has cars with stiff suspension and knows what he is asking for, but for me...after making my BMW's ride so stiff, girls I date complain about it...no, I do not want my daily driver car being anywhere near that level. I am getting coilovers for lowering the Fiesta to the exact height I want and for better handling over stock, which I think the H&R's will work fine for.

Also, just got off the phone with tirerack and it's going to take 1 month before they get the H&R kit and then mail it to me. I guess they haven't actually made any for production yet or they just make em as they are ordered like Ground Control. And even though they show two H&R coilover options on Tirerack, it's the same part # . I choose "street performance" over "premium", but according to the sales guy...it's the same.


Pretty sure H&R does not make dampers. I searched around and looks like they use Bilsteins. Anyone know for sure?
