Good evening everyone

Good evening everyone,
If anyone couldn't tell from my screenname, my name is Don. After trolling around here for a couple days, I called my dealer and had her track down a new Fiesta for me. The call came in this afternoon, she found one. Without ever even test driving one, I just bought myself a new, blue flame Fiesta SES hatchback with a five speed. I know it sounds spur of the moment, but my old car had a slight timing chain malfunction, (the pistons on two of the cylinders decided to get cozy with the valves), and I decided I was tired of trying to keep old cars alive, so just like that, my very first new car!!
Btw, my dealer must love me, last February, my other old car died and I decided to buy my girlfriend a new 2010 Escape, and take her 02 Saturn to replace my, then recently departed, 99 Escort.
I can't wait for it to be delivered, hoping to see it before the weekend. I can't believe how much I have learned from hanging out in the shadows for the past few days in the forums here and look forward to taking part in some of the discussions regarding these awesome cars.

Don't sweat how you're buying - I did the same. The car was on order 2 weeks or so before we even got to see one on a lot around here. You'll love the little beastie!

Welcome to the forums!

I did a mild version of that. I had never driven the 5 speed, only the auto, when I had mine tracked down. Had all the papers signed and paid for in full before even taking the car.

Congrats on the new ride, you'll love it. Also welcome to the forum!

My dealer made me drive the car, first thing, at delivery. He actually gave me the keys, and then me and my 3 friends drove away with it before I even sat down inside their building. My Fiesta is my first brand new car and I love it more-and-more. Everyone around here loves the driving style of the Fiesta, I bet you will too. Welcome! Look around a bit, ask questions, and give comments where you can. :)

Also, if you hadn't specified your name is Don I would have guessed that "Cyberdon" was a cyber world dinosaur. I'm weird like that. :) A little Aud you could say.

So, I forgot how much fun it is trying to buy a new car lol. My dealer "basically" has it, but hasn't actually received it into her dealer inventory yet:( Looks like it won't be happening until at the earliest Monday evening, sad face.

Just finished signing the paperwork, the Fiesta is officially mine now. The dealer delivered it strait to my driveway, so my first time behind the wheel of any Fiesta was moving it the 30 feet or so into the garage to park it for the night. Let the mod shopping begin lol, definitely the first thing to get will be short throw shifter and some billet bushings :)

Fan-Flipping-Tastic! That is the first mod I'm going for too.

How can you just drive it 30 feet after getting it?

Mine has been built, but still awaiting transportation. There is no way I'm driving less than 20 miles after I get the keys.

One: Its really freaking cold out, and I spent 45 minutes cleaning a spot out in my garage to park it.
Two (the main reason): the dealer dropped it off in my driveway at like 5:15 this afternoon, since I didn't get out of work till 7, I had to wait till she came back at 9 to finish the paperwork and get the all important keys and registration. Otherwise I would have been driving around like crazy lol
