I had a Universal Air Filter put on my old Ford Focus. after looking into something like that for the Fiesta i noticed that it would be imposible unless i had some other place to attach the MAF sensor to. i noticed that nobody else on this forum has really discussed this, so im guessing that this is just not possible unless i buy one of the Injen or Steeda CAI's...
IMHO you can't beat a paper filter when it comes to actually filtering. I would just stick with what you've got and drive the car. If you want to spend money on something think about spending it on where the Fiesta shines - handling.
I have the Injen cold air intake on my Fiesta and it's awesome. It's winter here and I was concerned about having slush getting sucked into the filter so I have the filter clamped onto the top tube. In spring I will reattach the lower tube that places the filter in the space around the windshield washer bottle. The Steeda cold air intake places the filter where the OE air box was located so you don't need to worry about it in winter. K&N also has a 57i induction kit for the Fiesta that also places the filter in the space where the OE air box was located.
This is very true. I just installed mine yesterday, both ways and the CAI version has a lot more loudness to it! But since i broke the rubber bolt or the M8 Vibra-mount that attaches to the chassis, i keep it in short ram.
Definitely worth the money i think.
