sports appearance package gives you the 15" painted alloy wheels.

Default About 39 MPG and climbing

Presently, with about 1,350 miles on the odometer, my car is averaging about 38.8 MPG avergaing 33 MPH. I'm in Chicago with a lot of stop-n-go traffic on the 40 m. commute home. If the stop-n-go could just go away, I'm pretty sure the car would get at least 40 MPG.

I've got the SES Hatchback DCT with the 16" wheels.

But my actual Fiesta SE (non-SFE) has 185/60/15 tires on it.

Ah, good to know. Ford's build site is loaded with errors.

It's always funny to read about the Fit drivers' mpg claims. The Fit's mpg meter waayyyy overestimates mpg. If it says on the display 37 it is probably closer to 30-32.

OK, so I have filled my car up 4 times now.
I have driven my car very conservatively.
My driving has been mixed each time between city and highway,
but much more weighted towards city, (approx. 80% city/20% highway)
Here are my results.
1st fillup: 33.9 mph
2nd filliup: 35.1 mph
3rd fillup: 30.2 mph
4th fillup: 30.2 mph

Default still impressed

I continue to be very impressed with the gas mileage I'm getting with my car. I returned to Missouri from a vacation in Northwest Illinois yesterday. It was pouring down rain when I left and when the sun came out the daytime temps were anywhere from 95-102 during the 450 mile journey. I had Max AC going the whole time (the owner's manual says this can be more efficient than regular AC setting) and still the car got at average of 40.5 miles to the gallon. I traded in a car that got 28 on the highway so the gas mileage numbers I'm seeing are making me grin! Now that I'll be back to more balanced driving of highway and city miles, it will be interesting to see what the numbers are.

The car also handled great during a torrential downpour. The only thing I was missing was a super super fast wiper speed.
