Default 38.5mpg according to the multifunction display

After about 60 miles of driving, the multifunction display shows 38.5mpg average, though that probably includes some moving around the lot of the dealer before delivery (it was showing something like 15mpg average before today's driving). Most of the driving was highway; the multifunction display showed an average speed in the low 40s mph.

This is an SE hatchback manual with EPA ratings of 28mpg city, 37mpg highway.

Mine said 37.4 and when I filled up got 37.0. If I had put in a few more or less ounces it would have changed my calculation. I think the computer is very accurate. A/C working hard and lots of differernt types of driving.

The trick of high MPG driving on the freeway is: keep your throttle as even as possible. No sudden bursts or letting it go and picking it up again. (btw, that's how Belgians drive: fast-slow-fast-slow... gives bad gas milage)

Yes I am, but I'm in southern Minnesota. I had 100 degrees on the themometer in a parking lot. I'll let you know when it's -25! I did turn the passager seat on for a minute, couldn't really tell much.

Another day of similar (mostly highway) driving, and the computer shows 39.8mpg average.

But it will probably go down on saturday, since the expected saturday driving is more like city driving.
