Default sFe underbody panels

***Moderator fell free to move thread if I posted it wrong***

I know some people wanted to know what the under-body panels looked like of the sFe. Here are some pics.

Thanks for posting the pictures. Not quite what I was expecting them to look like.

Uh... no offense to vrod, but I'm kinda liking the Ferrari here. Oh, wait, the Ferrari can't even dream of ever getting this kind of fuel mileage... never mind.

Seriously, thanks for posting. I've been wondering what all would be necessary to convert mine to an SFE. It doesn't look like it would be that difficult actually. It appears to be only two panels (and they can't be that pricey). So there is no cover underneath the engine compartment at all?

Vrod, if you ever get the chance and have the time, I'd love to see some pics of the aero pieces behind the grille as well, and any cover or partial cover that might be under the engine bay. In the mean time, if my local Ford dealer gets an SFE in, I might be able to take my camera down there and snap some additional pics for this thread.

Thanks again for posting!

The cost, the labor (mine), and the lack of a rack in my garage (sure would love to have one like the one supporting the Ferrari above), might cause me to put that idea on the back burner.

I'm curious, and now wondering about what's different with the cruise control module? Perhaps it's tied in somehow to the Powershift transmission and shift points while in cruise? Anyway, that wouldn't apply to me (as I haven't yet learned how to drive a car without a clutch - the reason I couldn't get the SFE in the first place). I would just be curious to know how much the aero components alone would help highway fuel mileage.

I wonder what Steve at Tousley would quote us for the SFE under body...

Should I ask? I bet he could give us a under body kit for under $100

My thoughts exactly, maybe I'll give him a call.

If I could afford a Ferrari I wouldn't mind about millage that much, I would probably have a Tesla as well.

If you could cover most of the under-body with something smoother, and cover more, it would reduce some drag, increase mpg. what material are those under-body panels?
