uh oh, enjoy your ~39 ;)
I switched cars with my wife at her work last night before I could fill up. I swear my gauge said 51.1 when she got it for her 7 mile drive home. This morning the thing read 50.8 :(

Serious question here;
Are y'alls ultra gauge and onboard readings that close? Mine are about 2 mpg off from each other. Here's a picture of the two in my car, and they arent close (like Nate's are) Dash (Coasting on the off ramp) ![]() Ultra Gauge (at a stop light)

Mine has been way off my on board MPG reads 36 and my UG reads 42 do you think because i've kept my on board MPG pretty much set and my UG is relatively new it just takes a while to calibrate? Also i've noticed the MTE (miles till empty) on the UG jumps all over the place is it because of the high MPG its outputting? like for example if i have 200 mte on the on board read out on UG it shows 230... again is this just a thing that will go away after the Average MPG evens out? Do you think UG is overly generous because it goes to 999.99 when i coast or brake... Is this messing it up?

Hey Nate!
Out of the box the Ultra Gauge was fine, but I did have to recalibrate it when I installed the grille blockers. BUT I have never seen mine say 999.99 when I coast or brake. I think the most I've seen mine was at like 400 something, but I was going downhill and around 70. I would recalibrate it because that doesn't seem right to me. I don't use it for MTE as you can see, so I don't know about that. GL buddy, keep us posted!

Nate, What you're seeing is called deceleration fuel cutoff. When conditions are right, coasting down a hill, and during breaking, the fuel is cut to the cylinders and the momentum of the car is used through the transmission to keep the engine spinning. Since fuel is cut, your instantaneous MPG is infinite, hence the 999 display on the UG. My scanguages do the same thing. With the scanguage, I enter the fuel used at each fillup and it calibrates itself based on the actual fuel used over the last tank. Not sure if the UG does the same.

seems the best i can do is low 42, i tried to do better, but South NJ drivers are jackasses and feel the need to cut you off because your going the speed limit. We need another 4.50$ a gal spike to slow people down
