DRL activation

Woohoo! My dealer was able to activate my DRLs today thanks to the info posted here! He needed to add the relay as mine was a blank cover. As soon as he did that the computer picked it up and he was able to activate.

This is good to hear. I'm close to my 5,000 maintenance so I will talk to my dealer about getting DRL activated.

Do you mind sharing what they charged you to activate the DRL's, NLC?

Since this was the 3rd try & they found the relay in their "extra parts" drawer it was only $50 in labor. It took them about 45 minutes total.

So was the relay normally supposed to just be there or was is it not a standard part that is included? I really want to get this done, but am a bit apprehensive about getting enough detail that the dealer could actually figure it out for me.

There was just a blank cover over where the relay was supposed to be. Once the mechanic put the proper relay in his computer picked it up and he was able to activate the DRLs. My Window Sticker did not mention DRLs so the relay was not installed to be able to activate the DRLs.

Here is what he gave me and said I could post it to this forum. You should be able to print this and take it to your mechanic.

Thanks. And to be clear even if I had the LEDs as part of a package unless it says DRL on the sticker I would need to have the relay added in?

Also can you confirm the DLR feature. I assume it lights up just the LEDs (and not any of the yellow lights)? Is that correct?

When I did mine to see if it was possible I did not have to add the relay in I just did it all through the programming. I then just reprogrammed it to turn then back off because I didn't want them I was just trying it to see if it was possible to post on here for people that wanted to know if it was possible.
