thanks for the compliment. the car looks nothing like that now. i have since returned it back to basically stock, and sold it 2 weeks ago. it was a very sad day for me, but it is time to move on to something a little more practical and reliable. lol

We're not complaining because he's modifying his car. If you're gonna modify it, go ahead. But at least have the decency to do it properly and not with half-assed ricer HID kit ****.

And guess what? I aimed my projector retrofit too high on purpose and no one flashed me. Does that mean I'm not blinding them? Of course I'm blinding them, but no one flashed me. Same thing goes for your kit.

And it's not only hazardous to other drivers, it's hazardous to yourself. When you have an HID kit and you aim it down low enough so you don't blind other drivers you can't see what's AHEAD of you, you'll only see what's IN FRONT of you. This is why HID projectors are INTENSE at the CUTOFF, which is why some Cadillacs and Acuras blind you. When you have most of your light concentrated at the cutoff, you have greater night vision and you can see what's AHEAD of you so you have time to react. I have driven in all my friend's cars with HID kit's and i couldn't see anything beyond 10 feet in front of me. And I have converted all of them to HID projector retrofits.

And technically ANY modification to your headlamps is illegal. Painting it is illegal, putting LED's in it is illegal, and yes even projector retrofits are illegal. But who has a greater chance of getting pulled over? The dude with the HID projector retrofit or the dude with the HID kit in his halogen reflector housings?

Kit looks good. I have never had hid's outside my 350z and I must say the only cars that bother me are trucks. The fiesta Is low enough that I don't think it will be a problem. Even by the pictures you can see a fine line of where the light stops. That being said there sure seems to be alot of cry babies having a problem with it. Typical safety police that troll the forums.

Did you have to remove your headlights to get to everything easily? Looks like just 3 bolts/screws. Thanks!

8k HID's going in today. The usual setup I run on my cars is 8k heads and 3k fogs but the dang Fiesta doesn't have fogs.... but at the same time I can't wait to see the 8k's with those LED accent light strips at night.

I used to get flashed when I ran 8's and 3's in my 07 Ranger (reflectors). Trucks are brutal with HID's. No one has flashed any of my other cars. 2002 Lancer(reflectors), 2008 Fusion(Reflectors), 2010 Fusion(projectors), and I put HID fogs (reflectors) to match the heads (projectors) in the Acura and no one flashes them either.

Default Push pin at front of headlight

Slightly off-topic, but how does the stupid push-pin at the front of the light come out? The instruction manual just says "remove them".

Do you just wedge them out with a phillips, or is there some trick? It's below freezing here, and I don't want to snap one as a learning experience.

There are 3 phillips screws and 1 button closest to the front of the head light to remove. The whole headlight will then come out with a little wiggling and gentle persuasion. The wires will get tight so you'll have to unhook the clips on the light. You'll see when you start to take them out.

BTW these are H11's like I haven't seen, there are 2 slots for pins for power, no connector. You have just plug the pins from the hid harness into the slots. The slots are held in with a phillips, you have to remove that on the passenger side one or you can't get the pins from the HID harness in there. THe driver side is accessible.

Thanks for replying so quickly. What I'm trying to figure out is if there's a trick to getting that "button" fastener on the headlight out?

I've never seen one before, and the instruction manual isn't helpful...

15 mins on Google just taught me they cost $8.00 from Ford if you snap them off :P

So what is the legal way to put hids in your car? I live in California and it seems like everything you do to your car is illegal and I just want to do.it right.

Here's a link to CA headlight laws:

Clicky.

I didn't feel like reading through all that, but from what I understand (and anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) that all aftermarket HID kits are illegal for on road use. Usually says somewhere on the box in small print, "For off road use only." That aside, if they're not too blue/purple colored and you use DOT stamped projectors to make them look stock, chances are you'll never get pulled over.
