Default 2012 Ford Focus Pricing Released

Here's the link:

2012 Ford Focus Priced at $16,270 - KickingTires

Also check out the new info at Ford's web site for the 2012 Focus, they have the colors posted.

Since I'm having to wait to order my Fiesta, maybe I'll get lucky and the new Blue Candy will migrate from the Focus....It looks gorgeous to me!!!

look on Ford - Cars, SUVs, Trucks & Crossovers | Ford Vehicles | The Official Site of Ford Vehicles | FordVehicles.com there's a Focus Technology Rebate worth $500 when you pre-order.* hmm... where have I seen something like that before also there's a PDF with standard and optional features and pricing.

Pricing looks appropriate relative to the Fiesta.

MSRP does not look too different for lower trim models, compared to the current Focus. But you can load up the new Focus with more stuff to make the top end of the MSRP range higher. And, of course, there won't be the $thousands of rebates that the current Focus has now.

The new Focus has cool features like automatic parallel parking assist... Wouldn't this be a first for any C-Segement car globally?

It's only parking ASSIST, not the ability to park itself directly. People have confused it on things like the Flex, and have given a good kiss to the vehicle behind them. As the driver, you're on the pedals to make it go and stop. Hopefully people will realize it's not a self-park thing.

I believe the upcoming new Hyundai Elantra will offer something similar (based on some YouTube footage on other auto websites).

here's the quote:

Ford - Cars, SUVs, Trucks & Crossovers | Ford Vehicles | The Official Site of Ford Vehicles | FordVehicles.com

Our available Parking Technology Package comes with a rear view camera, front parking sensors and Active Park Assist. Unlike other systems that use imaging devices, our Active Park Assist uses ultrasonic sensors. Once activated, your Focus will parallel park itself with almost no input from you. And it will do it nearly three times faster than competitive park assist systems can.
Depending on when the Elantra debuts, wouldn't this still be a first for a C-segment car?

It also will have available rain sensing wipers here in the US. a first for the states (again, for a C-segment car), anyways, though the euro Fiesta already has them

The pricing seems decent to me; this is a high-content car, so pricing it near the top of the class makes sense and is even to be expected. I certainly find it a better value than the Cruze, which, for the same price, will offer you a lackluster (by most accounts) engine that's down by nearly 20 horsepower (though it DOES get a 6-speed manual).

I noticed also that on Ford's website the Focus now has different wing mirrors than what's been seen before, along with one other change. Spot the difference:

Press photo from January's debut, with the C-Max wing mirrors which were later changed to what I thought were mirrors pulled straight off the Mk2

Latest US Focus image from the Ford website; just an edited version of the January photo to reflect the new wing mirrors (3rd type we've seen now) and the other change for the US-spec...no projector-lens headlamps. In fact, all of the pictures of the Focus on Ford's site have had the projectors removed, replaced with the previously sedan-only halogen lights. This isn't a huge deal to me, but I imagine some people will freak over this, and it is a visible decontenting of the car. On the other hand, I actually kinda prefer the look of the halogen lamps; the projectors give the Focus a kind of reverse cross-eyed look from some angles (the LED strips partly make up for this). But coming from a Mazda3 I'm used to projector lamps so if I were to get a Focus it would seem like a step down...not that it would stop me from buying the car; it's just a minor annoyance.

----------

Also, USA Today's article came with a new photo of one of the trial-production Foci. I'm assuming it's an SE, going by the lack of wing mirror indicators or alloy wheels. Still looks good though!

Hmmm...I'm not too keen on the huge grill. It looks like someone abruptly sliced a few inches off the front end. The Fiesta seems to have a more rounded look to it.

Other than the front clip I think the new Focus looks good.

I like it more than the current Focus styling, but agree that the front grill looks clipped/strange.
