Why does alot of people think badly upon FORD cars?

My friends always ask me "Why do you keep going back to ford? Their cars suck, arent fast, and always have problems!" They prefer AUDI, VOLKSWAGEN, HONDA, and MITSUBISHI. This just gets me mad because they all drive low end volkswagens and brands i named above, But why is it that alot of people other than my friends think bad about FORD?

It's a high school thing. Some people never grow up. Ask them to be very specific why they don't like Ford products. Then be ready to counter why their cars are not very good. Look up history problems for their brand and year of car. Fight fire with fire!

It's no different with cars or any other sort of brands.

No brand is "good". If there was a "good" brand that beats everyone, then everyone would be driving that brand 100%.

It's your choice, and your money what car you choose and makes you happy. If they want you in another brand, then they should feel free to pony up the money for you to drive it

its a stereotype that i cant STAND! all of my car buddies in high school drove ****ty hondas that didn't last more than a year, while mine is just fine after 5 years! they always talked bad about ford. i finally had enough. we went to a local cruise night at the 1/8th mile drag strip. i beat every single one of their cars. and in the twisties, my car blew them all away. its just a stereotype... people have their own opinions about what car is better. but really, no car is "better" than another. except chrysler. everything is better than chrysler!(90's-mid 2000's)

Most of it history........perception of Ford cars in North America suffered greatly for many years and for good reasons.
Ford N.A. has admitted this fault but since Mr.Alan Mulally took over the helm this issue took priority and is being worked on and is beginning to show results.

This takes many years to fix, and Ford is on the right track for sure, but some haters will always be haters no matter.

I also believe that for some anti Ford people the overwhelming positive press being generated by the new designs, technology, etc rubs these people even moreso and become more negative towards the brand.

Just remember being a Fiesta owner gives one some pretty good bragging rights, because all global car markets are raving about this car.

Transmissions in the 90's Ford Taurus were notoriously sketchy, The engine head on the Ford Tempo was prone to cracking, The 3.0L Vulcan V6 in the Taurus in its later years (2000-2005) was woefully underpowered for the car's weight...

But I agree, since Mulally came in, Ford has turned around and today has become an example of how good American cars can be when executives take off their blinders and learn from global car platforms instead of competing against them.

They (or their parents) had a 1992 Ford Taurus 3.8 that blew head gaskets and needed frequent transmission repairs, or something like that.

But someone of them prefer Mitsubishi cars? Can't think of a reason to buy any of their cars except the Lancer Evolution if you are into that kind of car.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the head gasket on our 93 Taurus as well!

Three of the most reliable cars were had were Chryslers. '95 Neon, '99 Caravan, '09 Caravan. The '09 has had zero issues.

This what I have to say about the Honda people or who ever, there loss.

09 obviously won't have many issues. 95 neon?!?!?!?! i've replaced so many head gaskets that i honestly think i can do one in under 2 hours with a blindfold.
