Default Lousey winter beater!

As I sit, waiting for a tow in the 99 s10, I miss the mini-batmobile even more! At least rush hour hasn't started yet! Anyone else waiting for a tow?

Sorry to hear of your dilemma. When you say 99 s10 I'm assuming you mean a Chevy S10. Surprised you got stuck. Or was it a break down?

Just a side story to tell. Two days ago as I was leaving work at 9:15 pm about a block from the store where I work an elderly lady had skidded past a intersection and just barely missed a head on collision with a utlity pole. Her car was knee deep in a snow rut. The tires were just about touching the ground. My boss who was about 1 minute behind me also stops and we try to shovel her out to no avail. Then another motorist with a truck and tow rope stops and offers to help. However, nobody wants to get under the car to tie the the tow rope to the axle. Then a young man also stops and volunteers to to do the dirty deed. Within 1 minute car is free and everything is ok. The tow rope guy and the young man scattered away before me or the elderly lady can thank them. She then thanks me profusely and I tell her to thank my boss for stopping and that he is the manager at the Valu Home Center in Orchard Park, NY. The following evening the women comes into the store and asks for me. I come to the front and she presents me with two large boxes of Valentine candy to share with the store. We both lament the fact that she could not thank the two people who did the actual rescue. My point with this rambling is that it never ceases to amaze me how people will pull together to help out without expected reward or payment. Kudos to the two people who left without expecting a thank you or payment and to my boss who also stopped to help. And a thank you to the woman who was grateful to give us a token of her appreciation.

That's a good one! And it was my fuel pump that died, and FYI, it's a thou to replace! And the fiesta won't recognize the key fobs! All in all, an expensive day off! Insert appropriate expletive here!!!

Norm

I see you're from the Buffalo area. Just a side story for you: While visiting friends in Western, I test drove my first Ford Fiesta in the late 70's at a Ford dealership on the NE side of Buffalo (N. Tonawanda, Amherst area). I don't remember the dealer's name (it might have been near a college campus) but I do remember the car--a light-colored Fiesta S (Sport). When I got back to Wisconsin, I picked up a 79 White Fiesta Ghia.
