For the price of $57,500 you can get yourself a "new" DeLorean DMC-12.
Clicky. I absolutely love these cars. If I had money I didn't know what to do with, this would definitely be where some of it would go!

This is truly cool. I've heard of people building these things in there basement. Very cool that they are making a comeback.
I actually heard talk of another BTTF movie was scheduled, but... Christopher Lloyd didn't want to do it. Oh well...

Indeed. You don't get a DMC-12 for sheer awesomeness of accelerating to 88 miles per hour in just under a decade....it's all about the stainless steel, gullwing doors and odd but cool 80's styling.
![]() A long while back I saw one for sale that was painted. I was, and still am, at a loss for words as to why someone would massacre a DeLorean by painting it.

The DMC's weren't so bad outside the US.
They produced 170 hp everywhere else but here. US emissions regulations required catalytic converters, EGR, etc., be added to the vehicle which robbed the US spec DMC of 40 hp! They handled much like a Lotus Esprit everywhere else too. From Wikipedia: Quote:

The painted ones were offered new after the company went bellyup. I remember seeing an advert in autoweek magazine that said the sales agent would paint one in any color available in the 1984 Rolls Royce catalog or something like that. I thought it was odd. But, this was shortly after John Z had been busted in that hotel room trying to do a cocaine deal. Anyone remember the jokes about Deloreans having "snow tires" as standard equipment. Ah, the eighties. I'm still a little hungover. I have always thought the Bricklin SV1 had way more gull wing door "coolness" than the Delorean. Mostly becaue it was a rear wheel drive /front engine with 351 Windsor Ford V8 power. A Renault V6 is not gonna cut it on Woodward. I think a Bricklin with an SVO crate motor and Tremec 6 speed would be very nice. I would rip out all the original interior and paint mine silver and flat black. I have looked at them as a project car but the right car in the right place at the right price has just never happened.
