Was driving to St. Louis on 70 last weekend, and I must have seen at least a dozen different 2012 Focii. Looks like they're selling very well so far, definitely seen more of them than i have fiestas around here. Personally I was turned off by the fact that you can't get an SEL with a stick, and every SE I've seen has hubcaps (no thanks). But, I have to admit the hatch in Race Red does look pretty good...

The Focus market is different than the Fiesta market. It's also larger. I've seen about equal numbers of 2012 Focuses and 2011 Fiestas.

On 2 trips to Detroit, 1 trip to Indy, and a trip to Toledo, I would say the number of new Focuses outweighs the Fiesta's 8-1. I have mentally been keeping track, and I am shocked at how there are new Focuses everywhere, but seeing a Fiesta is rare. In my town alone there are more Ferrari's, Ford GT's, Bently's, than Fiesta's. There are maybe 2 or 3 Fiesta's in town, including mine, and about a dozen new Focuses. Get into bigger cities, and the number of new Focuses jumps.

I have been seeing a large influx of Foci around. Much more than the number of Fiesta's. Not 100% certain, but i think a few of these foci are Rental cars tho

There is a Black 2012 Focus SE hatchback at my work. It does look nice, but about $5k over my budget. Also, the Fiesta is cuter imo. (:

i actually see many more fiesta's than focus. i really like the focus, but i would never get one as you can only get a manual in the base model. way to let us down ford.

I haven't seen any Focii out in the wild yet. There's two green hatches, a green sedan and a magenta sedan I see regularly as far as wild Fiestas go. The dealership has been void of Fiestas for almost a month now. I usually see 1-2 Focii there.

I was checking them out - but the Focus "S" is SOOOO cheap looking.
15" hubcaps, black door handles, one-piece rear seat (in the sedan). Want a little snazzier one? Get ready to fork it over...and get an automatic. No thank you. Fiesta looks equally good "S" or "SE" and has the splitfold rear seat. And it's cheaper. |

At some point, I would want to see the sales reports on the Fiesta vs Focus. From my observations, the Focus is way ahead! Matt, I agree. The base Focus with hubcaps looks really cheap. I don't think any modern car should come with hubcaps and they are horrible for brand image. The orginal base Focus hatch came with aluminum wheels standard, upgraded stereo standard, leather wheel standard, and the better engine. The ZX3 was the best base model car ever invented! It did not punish the owner. The new Focus can look like a rental car in base trims, and look awesome in upper trims, but you can't shift the nice ones. I don't get that move.
