Does anyone else get this?

Does anyone else notice that a lot of other drivers around you change speed as you go by them (usually by going faster)? I’ve noticed this behavior for many years but lately (since we bought the Fiesta) it seems to happen a lot more. It might just be a heightened sensitivity to it since it’s been bugging me for years but I’m beginning wonder if there’s an element of curiosity towards the Fiesta. It happened back in 1999 when I had one of the first hatch Focus's ever delivered too. I’ve even noticed on several occasions when someone is overtaking me on a freeway that they'll hesitate while in the rear ¾ zone like they’re checking the car out.

It seems to be quite common. It can be really annoying when you're on the cruise control and the other car speeds up just enough to prevent passing without some real extra effort.

Since I have been driving low powered cars for years, I have seen this a lot.
Either they speed up or after you pass, they come flying by and then a short distance down the road you catch up and do the whole thing over again.

I noticed also. But I think it's a mild form of road rage. They don't like to see a small car get ahead of them or go faster.

They do it to me at work too, it's a bit annoying in a 5 ton truck.

I get very frustrated by the people who seem to want to pass you but as they get near you seem to want to pace you... it can get dangerous!
They really don't know they're doing it... same as if they speed up when you pass them...
Most people in traffic are brain dead and only react to stimuli. Thumb in bum, brain in neutral.
Driving isn't entertainment for them... it's a place to think about stuff, phone people, read, shave your legs, put on makeup etc... yes I have seen these things...

If you pace me I will either brake to get you out of my way or blow your doors off...I cannot stand people next to me because these clowns can't stay in their big fat American lanes in their big fat American cars.

Last year when it snowed and the Snowpacalypse lasted 4 days because the ATL has no removal equipment people would drive next to me...on icy roads...oh hell no.
