Default Guess I don't have to worry about that 1st door ding anymore

Was just pulling away from a stoplight a few seconds after the light turned green and this teenager on a bike comes flying across the intersection and whales into the left back door. Hard. I just saw this flash of kid and a bike cartwheeling through the air. He was okay. But now I have this nice scratch and small dent in the door. Geez, I would've liked to have had it more than a couple of months before something like this. Ahh well. Doo Doo happens. at least the kid was alright. He could've broken his neck as hard as he hit my car.

Ouch. Sorry to see that happen.

Although I don't know the exact details, that seems typical of bicycle riders (at least around here). Not paying attention to traffic and darting all over the place. If that is indeed the case, I hope it served him a lesson not to be a dbag while riding his bike.

My concern for their safety goes out the window if they aren't following the rules of the road just because they're on a bike. A car wins that battle 100% of the time.

He tried to beat the traffic across the road. The pedestrian signal was already red for him. I didn't even see him until a split second before he whaled into my door. Hope he learns his lesson and don't try to do that again. Next time he may not be so lucky. Maybe some good will come of this is how I have to look at it. Damage isn't so bad really.

Notice his tire mark going above the scratch right over my tail light even? looks like he tried to turn at the last second.

If it was the cyclist's fault, shouldn't he take care of fixing it?

What if the kid goes home and tells his parents or whoever that he was riding along minding his own business when some idiot pulled out in front of him?

Not saying Pennut was wrong saying people are devious.
