wish they would have used a 05-11 US Focus instead of a gorgeous MkI EU Focus hatchback. I stopped watching the video since I did not want to see one of my all time favorite cars wrecked. If they would have used a 05-11 US Focus, I would have been delighted to rid the world of one of Ford's worst creations.

Holy wow!! That. Was amazing. And TERRIFYING.

(and the background had very vibrant colors... probably not the point of the video though...)

Wonder what a large SUV would look like? When they did test statistics a few years back the best survival was an Accord. It was nimble enough to avoid accidents it couldn't survive. SUVs didn't do so well in the real world because they couldn't avoid accidents.

Useful to remind us that "boron steel" has its limits.

I don't think boron steel made it into the 1st gen Focus at that early stage.

My only problem with their explanation is that they said the test would simulate two cars at top speed, 120mph, hitting head on. But they only ran the car at 120mph into an immovable object. The force would be equivalent of two cars traveling at 60mph each hitting head-on. To simulate 120mph per car, they would have to have the car hit the stationary object at 240mph.
