Default No Brakes!?
This just released:

I thought the rear brakes on my Fiesta were bad, at least I have them!

General Motors Co. is recalling more than 4,000 of its 2012 Chevrolet Sonic subcompact cars to check for missing brake pads.

Holy crap. Makes me like my Ford all the more.
Of course on the bright side it'll make it that much easier to retro fit disc brakes on the rear.

you would think someone would notice this when they're driven off the end of the assembly line and the brake pedal hits the floor if there's no pad on one side.

But the defective parts came out of Korea I think which is a step above China imo but not in this case. What a PR mess.

One of the reasons Ford is currently the best overall buy. True they have had problems, but they also addressed those problems with fixes before they became a recall issue.

I'm not sure what someone would feel because I think it was only the front brakes that were stopping the car. Don't the front brakes supply most of the stopping power?
