It's looking like it's going to be as close to apples v apples as a non-German has ever been! I really really hope that it's as good as a 3 series but a bit cheaper!

Doubtful. The ATS is a direct competitor to the 3 Series.

Also, The ATS is due to get a Diesel variant.

Too much flexy plastic in the butt. Interior could be a little more refined. Otherwise I'd agree. But there's something to be said about the angles of the Art & Science design.
