Cool

37MPG highway with the 1.6L ecoboost? This would mean that when the Fiesta ST debuts with the same engine/transmission combo(the 6spd manual) that it should easily be able to get 39-40MPG highway. That is unless the beef up the tune to get it an extra 10-15hp and/or change the gearing in the transmission more aggressively.

My first thought also. What is the excuse for not offering the 1.6EB in the Fiesta and not having to buy a special edition? Wake up Ford! This would be a great engine for the Fiesta and it appears you would not give up any gas mileage pending you keep your foot out of it but would really have a pocket rocket.

Cool

Only thing I can think of is they plan to get the Fiesta off the ground with the current drivetrain lineup, then in a year or so give it a power increase and a fuel mileage increase, then a year or 2 after that drop the EB 1.6L in while still keeping the same fuel economy.

This is of course if they don't offer the ST, the other option could be them Direct Injecting the 1.6L, giving it a huge MPG increase and adding the ST to the lineup with the same if not better mileage than the current Fiesta.
