Hi guys!
Well, the thing is that a few years ago I was on holiday with my family. I was driving towards Mexico Border (interstate 35) and we get pulled over. I was driving at 85-90mph in a 70mph zone as I remember. So the officer gave a ticket. It was Dec. 30th around 8pm, and the ticket requested that I should go to see a Judge, but i needed to be in Mexico by Jan 1st. I asked the officer if I could call the judge the next dat (dec. 31) but he told me tha in new years eve nobody was gonna answer me. So the next day we returned to Mexico, and now, that I would like to visit the US one more time I'm afraid that US customs won't let me in. Does anyone have an advise for me? or a e-mail adress where i can look for help? Thanks in advance. |

Call the police department that issued the ticket or a US attorney? I don't know if anyone here is in law enforcement.

To start you need to ask someone who deals with international drivers and speeding tickets. This forum probably not a good place to find true legal advice.
With that being said. If you ignored a ticket and plan on crossing the boarder, your likely to be refused entry or arrested (tickets that get ignored turn into warrants). However since it was a month ago, it likely hasn't gotten to the point of a warrant. So you need to see if you can pay the fine or if your already screwed.

Actually, the OP said "a few years ago." Thus, there has been an arrest warrant issued. SOP.

If you still have the ticket, call the jurisdiction where it was issued (was it DPS/State Trooper or local deputy?), fill out a letter that says you do not contest the charges against you. Apologize to the court, wait for them to get back to you.
Was in north or south of San Antonio?

I'd echo the recommendation of finding legal advice from someone who specializes in these situations. There is a high probability of a bench warrant; and at a minimum you'd likely be denied entry to the US.

I'm from Texas just call up the city and pay it off and you will be okay. It's a speeding ticket, nothing more. You are going to have to pay the fine as well as court fees and failure to appear.

One million dollars <insert evil laugh here>
By now I'd imagine it's a lot more than the original ticket was by several times over. You need to make some phone calls.
