Default Any HAM / Amateur radio operators on the forum?

What do you use?

Do you have it mounted in-car?

Antennas?

I was genuinely considering adding an antenna for 2m/70cm usage but was clued into the euro style 'replacement' antennas.

But then I discovered that the base of the OEM antenna is for the Sirius (which I may yet renew).

So now, before I drill a hole and add a euro antenna in front of the OEM antenna or swap it out or do anything else, I thought I'd reach out and see if anyone has done something with their Fiesta and Amateur radio

edit: Here is the euro antenna they linked to. I have no idea how effective it is or how the vendor is though.

I'm licensed, but my stuff has been in storage for about 5 years. I think your Fiesta would look sexy with a screwdriver HF whip screwed into the passenger side behind the rear door.

Back when I drove truck for a living I would do mobile CW on 20 meters.

KD0WTF here (completely intentional

Only licensed because of rally. I'd be interested in how other Fiesta owners mounted their gear. Not sure how I'm going to install mine.

Not sure if they do this in US, but in Canada they give amateur radio operators special license plates with their call sign on them as opposed to a normal serial number. I see them regularly.

KC8QOY here.. Here is my car when I had the thru-glass Larsen. It didn't work very well because of the tint, but it looked pretty darn cool.

I have my radio mounted on the pass side position adjustment bar using zippy ties. Its hard to change freqs while driving, but I stay on the local repeater most of the time.

I have since switched back to my Comet B10 magnet mount.
