Much of the problem lies at the fact that most people just don't want to drive a manual transmission except for a handful few like us. Two Ford is going to definately aim this car at the first time buyer crowd of young college students and the cheap price is going to attract it. People are going to like that and like the car for that for sure. Its getting on my nerves that its getting more and more difficult to get a good descent motor with a manual transmission. I told a salesman I'd buy a Fusion if it were AWD V6 with a manual and nothing else. But North Americans are getting more and more lazy, they don't want to shift gears manually, they don't want to turn on the headlights manually anymore. Not to mention the way fuel prices are right now who wants a manual transmission option when they'll do fine as is with an automatic. Sadly I feel like I should leave the US and go to Australia where I can get all the good Fords of Europe and the Australian Falcon at the same time as well as the Australian Holden Commodore (Pontiac G8) which has a full manual option as well.

This is all speculation based on reports, spy pictures, and history. We won't know until the car is in production. So until then, I will keep fighting to have less changes.

because 90% of the people won't know the difference. Unless the cars are sitting side by side, the average consumer won't notice. Most people don't care or will even notice. For those who do care, it is a concern. I am just shocked by how different the US car is going to be from looking at the spy pics. Then again, they are only spy pics.

The best thing to do is keep on saying on here that you don't want any changes to the US Fiesta. They do check these types of boards to get feedback.

woozers its all about the 3 bars, and to hell with the DNA lower trap.
Inside Door panel looks totally different and chunky grab handles on the door, and huge door pockets for your carry on baggage. Ford N.A. better keep some of that stuff over there for MY2011. And is the front pax side window wiper busted or is that the mandatory USA regulators saying the USA cars window wiper swipe arch must be changed, hence an almost upright station for the wiper blade. the passenger wiper does look strange. I have no idea why it is shaped like that. The front bumper is nothing like the Verve Sedan concept, at least the bottom half. Maybe the bumpers were made for the test mules and are not for production. I can't believe they would actually put that terrible nose on the Fiesta, and ruin the trademark grille. It is almost as bad as the time Subaru put the Tribecca nose on the Impreza. That was really bad, and this is taking a close second.

Although the Fiesta will slot below the Focus, Ford will be positioning the Fiesta as a premium small car the Fiesta is produced as both a three-door and five-door variants in other world markets — but a source at Ford’s Mexican plant indicated that both versions would be available in the U.S. Quote:
![]() At that time, Subaru's design department was at a loss, they simply couldn't think of a fresh, different design. So they got Andreas Zapatinas, a Greek designer. Who made this. And then we never heard from him again. ![]() Zapatinas happens to be the main designer of my Fiat barchetta, I've met him 2 times and he even autographed the inside of my door! (the interior was done by Peter Davis, an American who autographed the other door ). Zap's first job was the triangular dip of the hatchback window of the Alfa 145, a design feature still found on current hatchback Alfa models. After Zap's depature from Alfa/Fiat he went to BMW where at the time the Z8 was conceived. (He claimed having nothing to do with the design, he just happened to be head of design at that time )![]()
