I haven't had a new car for me to drive since I bought my Ranger in 1992. I got what I wanted on it and I still have it and will keep it when I get the Fiesta because you always need a truck. I figure if I don't get a vehicle I like and want I will just regret the car after a short while. I also don't get a new vehicle every few years for myself because my wife usually gets the new one because she puts more miles on her cars quicker than I do. She has had 3 new cars since we married 13 years ago. I am not saying I haven't thought about about it but it just hasn't happened until now. I have 245,000 miles on the Ranger and have customized with paint,wheels and sound system whenever I thought I needed a change. I still am happy with it but I need another option for city driving to work and back. I also need a newer project to play with.

On Friday, I will be ordering a white SES hatchback, black leather, upgrade package, Sync, keyless start/entry, 5-speed manual, euro spoiler, body kit, and metallic interior package.

Once it arrives, I have a set of white 17" wheels ready for installation. Depending on what Ford Racing and FSWerks have to offer and I can import will lead my next modifications.

When ordering are they requiring a deposit? If so, how much?

I'm hesitant to preorder because it puts you at a serious disadvantage as far as trade-in value and other things if they already have $500 of your dollars.

It's a fully refundable $500 deposit, you can walk away anytime you want even after the car arrives on the lot.

I'm coming from a ranger too. It's a 2002 and my second ranger after my 1997 was rear ended and it rolled over in '02. I'm still debating if I am going to keep the ranger. It's been a work horse and I'll be sad to let it go.

I only put a 200.00 dollar deposit and that was the number the dealer asked for.

I would say that the painting is done at the factory for the paint matching, not sure about wether they will be isntalled at the factory though but probably are.
