Yeah, the SE hatch gets a TON of standard equipment for $15k, so it's not overpriced, I'd say. ABS, power windows, locks, mirrors, A/C, AM/FM/CD/MP3, all the basics are there. The only option I really need is Powershift (I go through too much stop-and-go traffic to be comfortable with a manual) and for under $17k including destination I'd have absolutely everything I need in a car. I'd just prefer to have alloy wheels, Sync and mirror indicators; the first two add a reasonable $755 total but the latter requires upgrading to the SES, which I would do anyway only I'd probably be stretching too far by then.

So in the end I'm aiming for an SE Blue Flame hatch with the Sport Appearance Package and the SYNC and Sound Package, which comes out to $17,620 in total. For such a well-equipped car that's a good price I'd say, but it's still slot for me. Now to get saving...

I'm beginning to realize I was perhaps a bit too overly optimistic/hopeful about the pricing of the Fiesta before the pricing was released.
It does have more tech, and more features than the Honda Fit so it should have a small premium above that. However, I guess I was hoping that Ford would be pricing it a little more aggressively to steal more buyers from the Fit.
I also didn't realize that the 17" wheel package was a dealer installed option costing nearly $2000. Since it's on 95% of the Fiesta pictures I've seen, I assumed it was a more reasonable upgrade and just kept blindly adding it to my builds.
Now if I leave off the wheels and add in an estimated price for a Sunroof ($695) and Body Kit ($595) I'm at about $20,570. Better than before when I was afraid I'd be pushing $23k

I'm still interested in seeing if a performance oriented version is in the pipeline, and I need to see the new Focus before I make a move on the Fiesta.
Depending on how things go, though, I could be ordering my Fiesta shortly after the NAIAS.

This is great though! A little over a year ago I had sworn off buying any new Ford as there was nothing even remotely interesting to me. Now I'm struggling to decide between 2 Fords and there really isn't anything else I'm looking at. Ford has really turned themselves around and is finally building cars that people want again!

Well, the deed is done. I've reserved a Blue sedan in S trim.

This thing is really basic, not even a CD player or power windows, but that's how I like it. All my cars have been base models. The important thing is I'm getting Variable Cam Timing, Electric Power Steering, and the world's most affordable dual clutch transmission.

The prices are about what I'd been expecting for the past few months. I'm willing to pay more for this than I would for a Yaris or Versa mainly because of what's under the hood.

So now I just wait to see what happens next in the reservation process because it's not at all clear. I really want to get to a dealer and finalize the deal. I'd even put down a deposit.

P.S. If you are having technical difficulties reserving, see if you put dashes in your phone number. It just wants the digits.

I agree about the 17" wheels I didn't figure that Ford would think 2000 dollars for factory wheels was a good price. I didn't add that on mine either. I can get a whole lot nicer aftermarket 17" wheels and tires and spend a whole lot less and not have wheels like someone elses Fiesta. The only down side is the PCM will have to be reprogram for the 17's. Not really a big deal for me since I am a tech and have the equipment and access to do it.

I changed my mind and took the plunge tonight. I ordered a blue Fiesta SE hatchback with the 6 speed Powershift tranny. I didn't opt for any packages or extras. Priced out at $16,865.00 ($16,190 + $675 dest chrg). After doing some extensive research the SE comes very well equipped and it looks great inside and out. By the way, the ordering online worked out very smoothly for me. Entered exactly what I wanted and at the very end they provide you a reservation code. I'm supposed to receive a follow up email shortly from Ford.

I couldn't believe when I saw they wanted $2000 for the 17" wheels, and that's over the price of the car with 16" wheels! I paid $420 each for my 18x8.5" Axis Circuit forged wheels by Rays Engineering for my RX-8. Manufacturers always rip you off for wheels, but I'm surprised they want $2000 over the price of the 16"; that's really crazy.

I figured with everything just a tich over 18K my S-Plan discount should give me roughtly 20% off if I remember right. Not much of a knock off but still quite well. I'll be doing the SE Hatch with 16's I do like the design of them but also leaves me with ability to order more European 16 Rims as well.

Don't count on your plan discount just yet when I called and reserved mine I asked what my D-Plan price would be and she said that they were not giving plan discounts yet. I checked the plan website and it didn't have anything on it being under or not under the plan so I called the plan adminastaor and they didn't have any information on it being in or out just yet. They said that since the car was just reveled yesterday and wasn't going to be sold till next year to call them back closer to release date and they would probably be able to tell me for sure either way. It also boils down to wether the dealer wants to participate but most of the time they do because the still get paid from Ford.
I also asked the reservation line the expected delivery date and she said late June or early July.

I wonder when sunroofs will become available. I'd like one of those.

I'm also curious how the free sync and premium sound works on the trims which already receive those features. Do you then get the $595 dollar value Ford claims off the list of the vehicle?

I called and they will let me use my Fleet Discount once the car is actually for sale hence why I can not reserve.
