Same here. Dearborn is "whack".

I'll probably consider the Honda FIT base hatchback after all.

It looks like Dearborn was determined to dash the hopes of those that actually wanted to buy a Fiesta in quite a few ways. By design? Maybe.
The Fiesta is looking more and more like a case of Dearborn using "turf protection" just as I had mentioned many months back.
Set up the import for failure and then they can claim "We told you so" .

Dearborn would much rather have you buy a Fusion...

Now who isn't thinking logically now. With the state of the economy and the auto industry I really don't think they came play this game.

LMT....I really wish you were correct!

But old habits die REALLY hard in the automotive business (I work in it )

Even after all the chaos at GM you'd had thunk that folks like Fritz and Lutz would have begun to react much faster to the climate but they didn't and they are out. Corporate culture is very hard (and slow) to change no matter which major car mfr it is.

And you don't think that other people and manufactures worldwide learned anything from GM and Dodge?

SUre I think they do LMT but especially the US major mfrs are loath to change, even now I would bet that there is some residual resistance to rapid change, I just mentioned it. Dearborn has performed the transformation better than GM and Chrysler, but they are still behind the curve compared to others around the world.

To be honest I didn't think Dearborn would have done much better than the other two, this was a surprise to me. A glimmer of hope for sure. I still hope that GM and Chrysler survive because it still means jobs for US workers as well, even with reduced production here.

HUH ? What ? This is the same manufacturer that thought outside the advertising box with the Fiesta Movement.

You do realize that a base Fit is within $500 of the Fiesta SE hatch, don't you?

The Fiesta hatch that has more content, better powertrain, better ride quality, better fit and finish, better styling, and better paint.

Hmmm, fancy that.

I also find it laughable that this guy is complaining that he wanted the one trim level (base) not available on the Fiesta after he spent months talking about he wanted all of the premium features from the Euro Fiesta or nothing at all.

Hmm, which one is it? Base or loaded?

Yeah it's also a better car that is definitely worth the extra $.

I dunno I think he just needs something to complain about. Either that or, like many people, he'd eat sh*t if a European crapped it.

(I read that either here or on Autoblog I think)
