Here's the details on the SYNC $595 offer

Quote:
SYNC not available on Fiesta S model. Customer may elect to receive the equivalent cash value of $595 on qualifying models, not available on Fiesta S
I think IAMZ interpretation is correct. I thought it meant since you couldn't get sync on the S you automatically got a $595 discount instead. But really you get nothing on the S.

Anyone have a guess what a sunroof option will end up costing?

On a Focus SEL or SES it is in the Moon and Tunes package for 795.00 which is a savings of 395.00. It includes the moonroof and premium am/fm stereo with single cd. On the Focus SE it is a separate option for 795.00 and it isn't available on the Focus S

That is a shame about it not being a pacakge on the SE. Maybe I won't be going for the sunroof after all.

Its all part of that plan to make you spend a little extra.

Or not spend any at all.

Actually $795 is not crazy for a sunroof at all, but the idea that I'll be giving up value on that choice if I purchase a SE sort of defeats the purpose of buying the less expensive model in the first place.

That's what I mean by getting you to spend extra, they're not fools. It's not five or ten years ago where you could get a basic model and load it up but still play less than a SES yet have every feature it has minus a couple things. Ford has realized that if people want luxury items they're going to make you get the luxury model. Though quite honestly I don't like how we use S, SE, and SES for Fiesta Models when we should use Studio, Zetec, and Titanium.

I just read that as of today (Dec 9th), over 1000 people have reserved Fiestas on the Build and Reserve site. I'd be curious to know what the sedan vs. hatch ratio is.

I don't think it is low. The Fit sold about 3,500 units in November. And it has only been possible to reserve for about a week, right?
