Thumbs up Is my dealer great or what ?

I got some paint spatter on the lower right side, apparently from a traffic marker paint. So I went to my dealers body shop to ask the manager what I could use to remove it. He looked at it and said "bring it in tomorrow morning when it is cooler". I did and the manager himself removed the spatter. When he got done he suggest I give it a coat of wax . Then he looked at me and said "Have a nice day".

Browns Ford Johnstown NY.

That is pretty nice of them. That's how the dealer here is too, it's just too bad they're not all like that.

Yeah, the ones here aren't very giving like that with non-fleet/commercial customers usually. They will talk to you about solutions, especially those you get to pay them for, but offer nothing like that. Very nice! Maybe send a message to Ford MoCo about the dealer and your awesome experience. (: They should be recognized and encouraged by FMC!

Or they could get smacked down for being too nice and costing the company money.

They wouldn't be costing the company any money since the dealers aren't owned by Ford and unless they had to replace body panels they wouldn't be purchasing anything from Ford. The dealers are privately owned so if anything they are causing their owner money but not a lot and most owners encourage little things like this to make a repeat customer.

I know this, it was a joke.

It's a good thing it works that way because otherwise that would happen.

Hey Audrey I'll give you a Ford story that made me a Ford driver for life. (I'm old and may be repeating this story on this forum? But, here goes.)

Around 2001 I was returning to Illinois by way of West Virginia from the Pocono NASCAR race. I was driving a 4.2 V6 Ford short bed(87,000 miles on odometer) pick-up. Gassed up in Cumberland, Maryland. A few miles down the road the engine made metallic noise and the oil pressure disappeared. I pulled over and one of West Virgina's finest radioed to Campus Ford in Morgantown, WV to come and get me. They towed me in took me to a nearby motel for the night. The next morning the person I had dealt with at Campus Ford called me and said he "was going to put a ray of sunshine in my life.' He said they had contacted Ford and they had said that my problem was from a timing cover gasket that allowed fuel into oil.(A recall that I had attempted to get fixed at my local Ford Dealer.) Ford agreed to replace the engine with a new rebuilt one at no cost to me. Campus Ford gave me a car to return to Illinois while they replaced the engine. A few days later they called and I returned to West Virginia to pick up my truck. All at no cost to me.
About 3 months later the engine was beginning to exhibit dangerous noises. Warrick Ford Of Covington, Indiana contacted Ford once again about my engine problems. Ford once again agreed to replace the second engine with another new rebuilt engine. I drove the Truck a few days and traded it off for a 2002 Ranger.
The above story has made me a Ford customer every since and forever.

Wink

That is sorta epic. ^ While I wouldn't claim to be "Ford for life," I do love my Fiesta! I also am a fan of Mustangs and my family seems genetically predisposed for Ford ownership. My grandparents, dad, aunt, and cousins are all Ford drivers. When I got my Escort as a gift from the maternal (non-Ford) side of the family my dad said, "looks like you've got the Ford curse too."

There are other good cars on the market though, so I like to at least think I keep any open mind.

My dad buys nothing but Fords so he was a little upset when we got the Prius but he has been very impressed by it whether he likes it or not.

He was impressed by the Fiesta too but couldn't get over how small it was.

My parents were ford people, now they have a Honda crv, and a Toyota matrix, and a dumpy old dodge ram for their 5th wheel... I'm not sure what happened to them, perhaps they are pod parents.. I drive a ford, chev, and Suzuki, my loyalty is to whatever floats my boat when I buy. Though I have been sliding towards ford favoritism a bit.... Just wish they'd bring me a focus RS 500, I'd take it over a stang anyday. I'd take a boss 302 over a BMW m3 though..
