Default 2012 Fiesta vs 2011?

I have a 2011 fiesta on factory order, should be here in about 5 weeks or so. I was just wondering if it would be worth it to hold out for a 2012? I got $1000 off with 500 cash back and 500 for the student discount, and I'm thinking they probably won't be offering incentives when the 2012 first comes out. I kind of need a car by the end of July but could wait another month or two if it was worth it. Are there any significant changes/upgrades to the 2012? Is it more expensive? I heard there might be an option for different gear ratios but I'm just a grad student, not a racer!

Stick with your 2011 100%. 2012 is mostly color and trim changes, and some for the worse IMHO. Plus they usually pull the incentives back at the beginning of the model year. Yes, there will be the new gear ratio option but I think only enthusiast drivers will appreciate it.

I'm in the same boat, waiting on a Mont. Grey car.
I know my fave 2 colors are discontinued for 2012...

But what trim changes are there besides the leather on the high end models?

What's the new gear ratio option? Low end power for quick take off or tall high end gears for better hwy mileage?

Can anyone confirm if Ford is updating the manual tranny of the 2012 model to be a 6speed? I've already heard they bumped up the final drive ratio from 4.07 to 4.25. But are they still sticking with a 5 speed?

I'm 99.9% sure I'll be buying a 2012 Fiesta hatchback come June next year and it will be a manual. A 6 speed stick would be nice.

Stick with your order if the color is important to you. The 2012 changes are cosmetic, so don't worry about waiting for it if you want something cosmetically different.

my 2011 Bright Magenta fiesta order got canxd due to the model year turn over, my buying service is offering me a 2012 at the same price but I really wanted that color, now I feel like i'm "settling" for lime squeeze I just don't feel like its really that much of a deal because i'm essentially getting the same car just not the car I really wanted.

If you can't get the color you want anymore (due to shutting down of that production color) then I'd suggest going with the 2012; especially when the dealer will give you a 2011 price. The 2012 number will look better later when you're reselling/trading in.
