Just realized Ford did a price increase on the Fiesta. :(

The automatic 2011 SE Hatchback I ordered in April had a base MSRP of $16,215. I priced one today and it's now $16,595. I'm crossing my fingers that the 2012s hold the line on pricing.

If it were up to me, I'd lower the price to prevent cannibalization from Focus sales.

I may be wrong but it's my understanding the price increase was across the board. It took place about 2 months ago I believe.

I'm very happy I made the decision to buy my Fiesta last August instead of waiting.

Yep, across the board. And surprise! They also upped the destination charges from $675 to $795. So in effect the cars have gone up over $500.

You do realize that freight has gone up to nearly $3 a MILE in some places right?

At that rate you can expect everything to be out of reach within a few months.

Everything has been going up, we've noticed substantial increases in our shipping rates through UPS, Fedex, various truck lines, etc.

Shipping costs hurt everything from the cost of transporting the parts for the cars to the factory to build them to the cost of shipping them to the dealership.

Same thing for getting parts to the depots and then getting them to the dealerships.

When transport costs go up so do the prices on the commodities being shipped.

As the Economy continues to be in the ****ter, and the US dollar is worth less and less, Inflation will continue. Its a sad fact, but without a stable Economy, we are just at the beginning !
