Default Building a Fiesta

Sorry if this has been posted before, but just stumbled across this video of a Fiesta being manufactured in the plant - I assume it's Mexico city - could be China - not sure. Although they seem to be making left and right hand drive vehicles at the same time, so more likely China???

Dailymotion - Ford Fiesta Manufacturing Process - a Auto-Moto video

I was surprised to see it get painted with the doors on and how many humans are still involved in that process.

Very informative. I wish it had a narration with it.

Oh, that's Asian alright. Mexico City builds only for the North American market, no RH drives here. Also, the front end of the cars gives it away; the larger grille and round fog lights. The sedans rule out Europe. Don't know if Ford has plant(s) in China. I think they're from Malaysia. Still a cool vid.

Thumbs up

8:10 the Blue one is very nice. I like the grill, fogs, and rims. (:

The date on the SYNC shows 3.10?.2009, I think, so this is definitely not Mexico. Also, the employees look south east Asian to me.

Thank you for sharing this video, it was cool to see the process like this. Narration would be nice, but I enjoyed it anyway.

the North American version of the Fiesta is assembled in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico. not Mexico City.

Sweet find, now I have seen both models of car we own being built...neat to see even if its not our market.

I was really surprised that they were painted while still shells, seems like it would be easier to build them out while primered so you didn't have to worry about scratching up the finish but I understand it is easier this way.

I wish I had a job where all I did was ride through a carwash on roids!
