Hi folks, first time posting here.I'm thinking about getting a new car.Besides the Fiesta I'm also looking at the Yaris and 2012 Accent.I'd like to know what cars others looked at and what finally swayed you to chose the Fiesta over those.

I considered Fit, Versa, Yaris, Mini, Soul, or waiting for 2012 Focus.
I wanted a daily driver/commuter that was fun to own and got good mileage. I also live in the N. Ga mountains on weekends and drive on some really fun roads frequently. Fit - already have one, didn't need the storage/back seat and wanted something more fun. Versa & Yaris - Rented them on business trips for a week each. Didn't have any fun driving them. Mini - loved the driving experience, but when optioned the way I wanted it, got pricey plus no where to get serviced. Had a couple of friends with them and realized that service may be important (got mixed reviews on reliability) Soul - gas mileage not up to par plus didn't know if it would age well (I tend to own cars 10 years) Focus - thought seriously about it but the Fiesta was just more fitting to me.

I cross shopped with a Honda Civic. I was looking for a car for less than $20k with high MPG and styling that I liked. The Civic, for me, was a sort of "meh I can accept this" sort of car. I test drove a Fiesta, then a Civic, and then I test drove another Fiesta when I went to order my own. The Civic is a great car with high MPG, reliability, and great interior space and layout. It was bland to drive, no excitement, and you see them everywhere. I sort of fell in love with the Fiesta at first sight and cross-shopped just to feel better about buying a car. (:
Why didn't I look at the Fit, Yaris, and Versa in person? Here's way:

In a word...Curb appeal! (well two words actually)
![]() I was seriously looking at the Versa. All the above mentioned cars will give you the economy and all are pretty much reliable. Personal preference will most likely be your final decision maker. Out of all of them the Fiesta is a fun car to drive. And you don't need to go fast or show off to feel it. Weather it be the manual or automatic your won't be disappointed. The only caution is the limited rear seating.

I was ready to buy a Fit Sport, but the dealer I went to really put me off. They had already added almost $1000 of exterior protection and other options to every Fit on their lot. I'm not going to pay 19k for a Fit with a manual transmission and no navigation. So, I started seriously considering a Fiesta. I found an SES with a 5spd, the dealer was fantastic, the pricing was very fair, and I couldn't be happier with the car!

I really liked the features of the car
Typically I drive manual tranny But I needed to have my daughter drive it, my girlfriend drive it so auto was mandatory I hate slush box auto so the Fiesta DCT and VW DSG were on my list. Fiesta won because of styling, features and fuel economy... and because my girlfriend really loved it! ![]() We love this car!!
