Sync renew

Has anybody renewed their Sync service yet? When do you need to renew? How close to the one year anniversary can you get before its too late? I'll be due at the end of August.

Yes, but you must renew it every year.
I just answered my own question. I logged on to SyncMyRide and it gives an anniversary date and they claim they will alert you when its time.

They never said anything about it being a "rental". I didn't get it since I didn't see the need. I realized the XM was a subscription service but no where did I see the Sync was. Dodged that bullet through sheer luck.

The only thing you have to renew it for is SYNC services (directions, VHR, etc.)

I have a portable GPS(use when I need) and a cell phone.(usually turned off, also used outside of the car.) I have no need for sync. If I want voices from the dash I turn on the radio. Snyc is a useless, confusing, DISTRACTING and unneeded feature. How about something really useful like an Temp. and oil pressure gauge?!!

Right. The 'renewal' of sync is only for the stuff you access when you say 'services' (ie directions, traffic, horoscopes, etc). Everything else (voice commands for music, bluetooth phone, etc) doesn't require renewal.

my Fiesta passed the one year mark on June 22nd and the SYNC lady told me it was time for renewal. I just had to click something on syncmyride. No cash was involved.
