Just got to thinking about what car my Fiesta reminds me of. I had an '87 Porsche 944 turbo. And it handled like a go cart. Very quick and nimble but still comfortable. My Fiesta feels the same way (although a little slower). Pretty good considering the sticker on the Porsche was 50K and my Fiesta was 18K out the door.

The 944 is considered one of the better handling cars of all time...
Even my 1992 SHO handles better. But, then it has Koni adj. struts Eibachs springs (cut 1.5 coils) and strut chassis bars weled in. H-brace stiffening the rear suspension and well, I guess thats not a fair comparison.

I had a 924s, man that car was fun to drive in the twistys.
Nothing better than having your doors blown off by a corvette on the straights only to pass them like they are standing still while they are wallowing around in the turns (yeah it was that good). My SHO did not handle well, but it was stock so it was a boat with a rocket engine. I went from curvy thrills to straight line thrills when I traded the Porsche in. As for the 'sta...yeah its fun...needs some more juice but maybe with the stick it would be better.
