These delays by car mfrs. blow my mind. The phrase "Never put all your sh** in one sock comes to mind.

Especially on a car built in multiple factories around the world. You would think having an equal number of parts facilities would cure this problem.

Is it a global economy issue?

Toyota, Ford, everyone else...there are millions of Americans who would love a job...build, open, re-open, reconfigure some parts facilities here and stop painting yourself into a corner whenever one corner of the world has an issue.

I ordered mine on 7/19 and haven't heard anything from the salesperson yet regarding a build date, etc. Perhaps I should send an email.

Hah. I love the term "poop sock" I might need to figure out how to use that in conversation.

Default This seems like a good topic to analyse.

That negates the phrase though... because you'd want it as weighty as possible.

As for Ford: more information about the delay would be nice.

I just sent a message to my salesperson asking for more info about a build date. My main concern is that I have a guaranteed trade value if I keep my old car under 20K miles. I'm at 19,400 now so I need to make sure I can ration the miles to keep it under that number. If I have to wait 6 extra weeks I'm going to be riding my bicycle a lot!

I just did that - just a generic 'I was told 6-8 weeks from my order date, was wondering if there was an update' email. I'll let y'all know what he says.
