Good read!

I found this article this morning and I actually thought it was a summation of the article you posted. But its actually a little different.

Ten cars you should recommend that aren't the Honda Civic

Fixt.

Btw- if somebody pays $5,600 for 5 years of insurance on this car they need a new company. That's over twice what I pay.

I was thinking the same thing.

depends on where you live. that's only about 1k more than what i'll end up paying for driving the fiesta for 5 years. and i have by far the cheapest insurance that i can find. i've shopped around, all the other insurance companies want almost double what i'm paying now, and it's because of where i live. so yea, i can see that being reasonable as an average due to city dwellers. we pay $850/6 months for full coverage on two cars, the cheapest i've found other than this is $1200/6 months, but most are closer to $1500. it also depends on age and sex, when my brother turned 16 it cost almost 3k/year to insure him.

I used to cost about 800/6 months for my l300 with pretty good insurance on it. Now it's down to about 500 or 600/6 months. it's not unusual, IMO, to pay 5600 for insurance. Young drivers (or **** drivers) get that the worst.

What ticks me off is that my brother, with his tickets and accidents, pays less for insurance than I do - with a spotless driving record. Why? Because he is older. :/

Points taken. I'm 28 and pay about $500/6 months for 2 full coverage cars. Perhaps I just have it good where I live as far as that goes.

I pay $960 per 6 months for full coverage on an '08 Volvo C30 and an '09 WRX and minimum on a 2000 Mazda B-truck. I'm 24 and my wife is 26. Considering the Fiesta is not a "sports car" (as they think my WRX is) and is worth about 10K less, I anticipate paying considerably less when I get the new Fiesta.

Haha, in British Columbia our insurance is government run. We have one insurance company, ICBC, and if you dont like it, then gtfo.
