Default finally got our new fiesta

We just picked up my wifes 2012 fiesta yesterday. its a se sedan, candy blue, 203a (i beleive), moonroof, and winter package. at first i thought i might be a little bummed bc we got this and not the focus to save money but NOPE. very very fun car, love the handling, the motor , it looks nice ( even though icoudnt convince her to get the hatch, the sedan looks good). i look forward to learning more about it from you all. but i do kind of wish they didnt put that flimsy little armrest in, i would have rather just bought the one you add on. i wndr if that will still fit??

Congrats! Welcome aboard... The add on armrests should still fit. As long as you'd be ok with the built in one spending it's life, ignored and in the up position.. If you wanted to remove the seat mounted one, you could, but I think the pin/swivel is attached to the seat frame so it'll stick out...

thanks for the information, i will be sure to post some pictures eventually. and i will probablly pick up the armrest when i get some monies. one other thing i dont like is that it is my wifes and i will not get to drive it much. lol. she st in it last night setting up and laying with the sync while the rain from irene was hitting us lol. its kind of weird to see her excited about it because she always makes fun of me fo being a car dork.

We'll have to start another color poll to accommodate the new colors available!

Congrats. You wife will love it. You will hardly ever get to drive it!

It just occured to me that you might not be able to lift the accessory armrest into the upright position with the seat mounted armrest in place. Your best bet might be to swap seats with an 11 owner who really wants the built in armrest...

Check the topic on this forum "What's your favorite 'little' thing". It will describe some small features that are sometimes missed by Fiesta owners.

Thumbs up

Post pics in the Foto section if you haven't.

Congrats on the new car! It is very fun, saves versus the Focus, and looks much better (imo). Too bad about the hatch! The armwrest is an unknown at the moment. Obviously a boomerang for the 2011s won't work, but perhaps they can develop a replacement piece for the 2012? These sort of mods aren't available for the 2012s yet from anyone that I am aware of.

Sounds almost like my 2011. Except for the sun roof. Since I seldom use an arm rest, that would not be an issue for me.
Be aware, that on this site, you hear mostly about complaints, problems etc.
Don't let that deter you since many, like me at 15K miles, have had no problems.
Enjoy the car for what it is. I just love to drive it.

and another member of the Fiesta family - with a sedan no less! welcome aboard!

as noted, you will hear a lot more gripes here, partly because Ford Customer Service also is here (unlike some other Fiesta boards). also, partly because in the main, we're all having fun with our cars! Mine is about to turn 13000 today with a build date of July 2010.

Enjoy the new ride ... I think it'll surprise you.
