Another one bites the dust....

I have been waiting and waiting for my new fiesta...was supposed to be here on Monday then Wednesday I was told it was delayed for inspection....today....


Unfortunately the Fiesta you were waiting on experienced significant damage from a hail storm and will be sent to auction as a complete loss.

The store will get additional allocation in the upcoming wholesale but you will no longer be receiving this unit.

Sorry to have to deliver the bad news.


Now do I settle for what they can find or start waiting all over again.

The dealer is looking but we are out to 500mi radius and so far no luck.

I agree it must have been a heck of a storm. Only wish they could have told us before it failed to show up. I am happy they didn't try a coverup or a secret repair. If they can't find a replacement I am hoping a new special order will arrive before my ford rebate certificates expire, but coming by Soth Train that would seem unlikely. Trying to get them to extend them or better yet get a replacement to me faster but waiting to hear on that.

If that falls through and even if it doesn't I might have to shop around. When I ordered the fiesta could only be compared to other 2011s and it was a clear winner now the 2012s are here......

Problem is the car the fiesta is replacing is basically dead now and I am now borrowing my brother's car while he is out of town but I can't keep running up his miles and eventually he will need it back.... Got to consider all the alternatives at this point but I hate to settle for a new car that is not what I really want.

Talk to the dealer. I was in a similar position and they had me sign paperwork to lock the rebates in. Has to be a "hard" order. Just include an escape clause if it doesn't show after x months.

What about a loaner, some dealers will do that in hardship situations. One of the faction members had to settle for an Escape until the Fiesta showed up because it was late.

They should give you a loaner car until the one you want arrives. At least, that would be the "right" thing to do, but who knows.

Well, the dealer didn't do anything wrong so they don't owe you anything. But, if I was your dealer I would maybe lease you a used car for cheap until either a replacement can be found or a new one, identical to the one you ordered is built and delivered.
