I'm currently halfway down to Orlando in the Fiesta, and wow! I love this car even more! My dad is driving the way down, he's not exactly looking forward to driving back in our Corolla
. You can really tell how quiet it is on the highway. We're getting 33mpg so far (it only has 1800 miles on it so it still needs some breaking in). And the coolest part is getting NPR the whole way down on my Sirius trial. The only complaint I've heard is how horribly placed my FF decal is. I'm really excited to drive the way back, I was going to drive down but my dad really wanted to drive it. Btw I've seen two rare fiestas already, a Bright Magenta SE hatch and an SEL sedan.

<laughs> Surprises like this are always good. Perhaps the Corolla could get replaced ... by a Fiesta? I had less than 1800 miles on mine and I took it on a trip to Tyrone, PA ... thru mountain areas and at expressway speeds (55-65 MPH). You should be okay ... mebbe vary the speed every so often.

I'm back home now. In total I saw 10 fiestas. Only two were sedans. Six were Lime Squeeze, one Oxford White, one Tuxedo Black, one Yellow Blaze, and one Bright Magenta. I'm really happy I chose Red Candy as I've only seen one in person once.
I wish. It's a 2010 so we won't be replacing it for a while. We got it right when the 2010 model came out in the summer of '09 during cash for clunkers. Had the Fiesta been out then we'd of taken a loaded SE sedan over the Corolla in a heartbeat. Luckily my Mom is the one driving it and couldn't care less about what is is as long as it runs. This was my reward for not being killed on I-4 (which if you never have to experience consider yourself lucky).

You'll get better mileage than that if you don't have a lead foot. I got as high as 46.0 mpg in a recent trip and the total fuel mileage for a tank was 39.6 mpg.
The ride and quietness of the Fiesta is truly exemplary. Ford did a splendid job in this regard. And I think it has more than adequate power as well.

I just pulled two trips of 420+ miles round trip this past week. Both were in the area of 41.2 MPG (real), 90+% at 55 MPH or higher. One tank of gas per each trip, non-SFE Sedan, heavy use of cruise control.
It can be done. I did note the computer was reporting as much as .7 MPG higher than I actually got.

I can't wait to get that kind of milage. I was using the cruise 90% of the trip and I rarely lead foot the gas. I still only have about 1800 miles on the car so I figure it's still got some breaking in to do.

Mine's got 12,600 on it now. I went on a 2000+ mile road trip and averaged over 40 mpg; I got 44 on one leg. Great little car.

I was doing 65+ on mine at 1700 miles last November. You really do not have to wait very long at all. With cruise on alter your speed every so often, that's all. Mileage then (before getting gas foot retrained) was 36.42 (Oswego NY to Tyrone PA) and 37.83 (Tyrone PA to Oswego NY) MPG.
Same run - same roads - this past June was 41.65 and 41.76 MPG respectively. Again, non-SFE SE Sedan.
