The "Americanized" Fiesta may have its flaws, what car doesn't. One of the many reasons i bought one was to experience that "euro-tuned handling". I live in Korea. In a big city. The Fiesta is in its natural habitat here, no big surprises. Its a great city car.
This week i took it into the mountains in search of some highly technical "twisties" I ride a sport bike on the same roads, so i know what to expect on the fun factor meter. This particular road had a hospital at the bottom of the mountain– for good reason, its wicked. My mostly stock Fiesta thankfully did not disappoint. Even with OEM Kumhos it handled and shifted as well as my mini cooper did in the states. Sure a little more torque would be nice, some wider low profiles wouldn't hurt, and the manual gearing is a little odd feeling on the steep parts, but man it was fun — even without rear discs! Anybody else out there put it to the "Alpine test"? i'd love to hear your thoughts. Hats off to Ford for not watering it down too much.......now about that new Focus Titanium.......

I took mine on the twisties along Lake Michigan on Saturday. I am always impressed at how much mechanical grip the car has. Sadly, it was 80+F' on the trip, so the AC was on and it sucked up a good deal of usable power. Also, trying to keep up with my brother's Mach1 did not help. Overall, the car is a great deal of fun on twisty roads. Hearing the Boesch intake roar when climbing hills was intoxicating!

I've driven my Fiesta in West Virginia, where speed is limited more by terrain than police. It was a lot of fun, of course, except when I was stuck behind a piece of farm machinery for 20 miles with no possibility of passing safely.

I drove through WV on I-77 and the WV turnpike a few weeks ago. It was raining constantly on the way up to Columbus OH. Frankly I was a little nervous taking some of the sharp curves at speed with the pavement wet but the car never skidded once. Many of those curves have a sign showing a truck tipping over and 55 mph speed limit signs. I had never driven the car in the rain before and I didn't know if the Hankook tires would be grippy but they stuck OK.

one of these days Flo's going to egg me on so much with the confident handling I'd get my 2nd speeding ticket in my short driving history of a dozen years or so. Probably doing more than 20 clicks over limit as well and have a more expensive fine. derp.
