Default Sunny day => interior warms up quickly

Anyone notice that, on a sunny day, the interior warms up more quickly than on many other cars, probably because the steeply raked windshield lets a lot of the sun in?

What color is your car?

Guessing you don't have tint.

Lime squeeze exterior, black cloth interior, no non-factory tint.

The other cars compared against also had no non-factory tint. One was silver exterior, black cloth interior; the other was medium blue exterior, dark gray cloth interior.

I'd guess it's more just a perception thing, it could be tested if you had access to the other car again.

All those windows, and especially the front, do create an intense hot-house effect. I regret it every time I neglect installing the sun-shade.

Can you install the clear IR blocking "tint" on the front window in Texas?
What about a light colored dash mat?

Yup. That's what I think too. That's why I use a Heatshield if I'm going to be parked long in the sun.

I had my windshield replaced and when you see the new glass sitting on the rack before he puts it in you think "Dang this is one huge piece of glass". The safelite guy commented on it too.

It's Global Warming

Tint and a loooooong sunshade for the front should help. There's thread about how long a sunshade you need - somewhere.

You haven't seen a large windshield until you've driven a Chrysler cab forward car (Neon, Stratus, Intrepid, etc...). The Fiesta windshield is small by comparison.
