Default Fiesta Side Mirrors

Dumb question for sure but are the US Fiesta's side mirrors turnable like their Euro-counterpart and if so, how to turn them safety without breaking it?

Yes they turn into the body, but the difference is so small it doesn't do much to allow for extra clearance.

They won't break easily at all. The pivot point is in the arm between the mirror and where it connects to the door of the car. Stand next to the mirror and give it a shove with your hip - it will fold in.

I believe we have slightly different mirror tolerances than the ones on the European Fiesta. I do know for a fact that the US spec model received reworked mirror caps (with our little wind flanges on top). If you try and fold the mirrors in on both sides of the Fiesta, you'll find that the passenger side mirror folds in a smidge further than the driver's side one. I haven't really discovered a reason for this yet.

For me ... I reach from the drivers seat and gently pull it in using the outer part of the mirror body and then I can get darn close to the ATM or drive-thru. Once clear, Just push it out using the corner part of the mirror body. It'll pop back to the "normal" position.

Cobra, we talked about that in Syracuse. Geez, how much closer do you need to get to the ATM? And I still say you gain little if anything at all.

I took my Fiesta through the drive through car wash. The attendant dutifully folded the mirrors in, and near the end if the wash, the rotating brushes flipped them back out again.

Oi...brushes on car washes? *shudder* I always have a hard time finding touchless places in Michigan. I end up trying to find a self-serve bay and hose off as much as I can.

Good Eye, but no. The car is just dirty.

It's a little narrow car. Why do we need them to fold? A full size pick up I could see this being useful once in a while.

With some of the parking spots these days, it's nice to have folding mirrors.
