Default Mileage Trailblazers

Some of us Fiesta owners have been racking up the miles pretty quickly. I thought that a thread hosting the current high-milage stories that include mechanical issues encountered, current condition of the car, and general "geez!" factor for the mileages piling up would be entertaining.

So here's my current mileage status as I sat ready to start 'im up and head home from the office last night:

On the way home I was slammed for 20 minutes by the first intense snow squall of the 2011 Hoosier winter. When I stopped for a quick supper at Taco Bell here's what I found:

I parked in my garage, shut down the engine, and took this snap of my mileage to date:

Yep, 75 mile commute each way. Not hard to rack up the miles that way. Less than 14 months in Babe and I'm already 5/6 of the way through my warranty. Oh joy.

Any suggestions from where/who I can get an extended warranty for a reasonable price?

WOW! 30K already!

Apparently you have not had any problems and the car seems very reliable. Sure you can buy third party warranty, but I don't trust them. You have a choice... Trade it in for a 2012 OR keep what you have secure in the feeling of having a reliable car and will need to only put in money if and when repairs are needed (not counting typical wear items such as tires, brakes, etc...). Can you afford to buy a new 2012 OR assume you need to put approximately $500 a year for repairs. What is the lesser of the two evils?

Congrats on the milestone! You got me beat by a couple thousand!

Just over a year of ownership on Mango and the wife and I have put 25k+ on the clock

I do all my own oil changes every 5-8k miles and we've had the car into a shop for service of any kind exactly 0 times so far.

Wow congrats... I think. My daily commute is about 75 miles round trip and I am only at a little over 4000 miles so far. Knowing my commute would add miles quickly, I purchased the 100000 mile warranty when I took delivery of the car. I was never a believer in extended warranties until I had to get the engine replaced in my 2008 Accord at 90000 miles. The extra $2000.00 up front meant I was on the hook for 0% of the $4300.00 bill for the new engine!

I've only had mine since August 20th but I will pass 10,000 on the tank I'm on right now. I fully expect I will cross 30,000 in about a year.

I bought my Fiesta because I was planning on moving and having a 120 mile per day commute. The move didn't turn out, my current commute is about 6 miles per day. I filled up my tank on October 6th and still have 1/4 of a tank left!

Have a look at the Ford ones. I'm not sure how the US packaging works, but the pricing is competitive, and you have the comfort that it's backed fully by Ford (not by a 3rd party).

But I certainly know how you feel. I breezed through my warranty on one of my cars (2002 Focus). First year, I zipped passed the 60K km warranty almost to the one year anniversary date of picking her up. I had anted up for extended warranty on purchase. A month later, I had some other issues that were covered *phew*. Just treat your Babe right with routine maintenance and cleaning, and she'll treat you right in return.
