Default Both Keys Stolen

Some one broke into my house this morning around 3 am while I was at work and my wife was upstairs asleep. They stole a laptop, the purse of a friend who is here for the holiday and both keys to my Fiesta.

Why would you steal Fiesta keys and leave Passat, CRX and motorcycle keys alone?

All my cars and bikes are locked up in my garage but I pulled the ignition fuse to the Fiesta just to slow someone down.

OH that's bad. I don't even know where to begin in a situation like this!

Well first and foremost I hope you called the police!

Hope your able to get the keys replaced some what cost efficiently... somehow I doubt they will give you a discount based on your misfortune but worth a shot... ?

Should pull out your little baggy with a key code on there first.. if that's lost your ViN should be sufficient for some new keys to be made I would think

I have the key code.

My insurance will fix it.

Dealers should cut new keys and reprogram a full set provided you have proof of ownership. Make sure you also have that with you when you go get the keys cut, just in case.

Chances are the thieves wanted to steal your car later on. Their thinking was to probably sneak into your car when you weren't looking and drive off with it.

If the police haven't been called, make sure that they are. Also, give the car a thorough examination i.e. see if there was anything taken from it i.e. registration/ownership information. It may well be the thieves were also looking for information to be used elsewhere i.e. identity theft.

Sorry about the break-in

I really think you'll want to replace your ignition lock and door locks. They will come back and steal your car when convenient if only to go for a joy ride and trash it. Call your insurance agent and see what they think.

Only problem with that theory is that once he gets new keys and they program them the old keys will no longer start the car so all they will be able to do is get into his car and trash the interior.

Yup, get it towed to the dealership and have it all switched out.

Odds are insurance will pay for it.
