Default Fiesta #6 in 2011

According to an article at thetruthaboutcars.com the Fiesta was the 6th best selling car in the world in 2011. Focus was number 4. Number one was the Corolla.

These are world wide sales.

I don't think the Fiesta has made a major impact to the American public yet. To most Americans it's just another tiny car that is a niche market. However, in Europe I'm told it's very popular with a proven track record. If Ford perseveres with the quality and sportiness of the Fiesta I think it will grow into a more popular car in the North American arena. However, it's main competition is the Focus. If you think about it, what advantage is there to a Fiesta over a Focus? And in North America we don't need small size as they do in Europe.
The only reason I bought a Fiesta in 2011 is because the 2011 Focus did not come in a hatch! I'm glade it worked out that way but again if I was to do it over again why would I buy a Fiesta as opposed to a Focus?

Right you are.

But from what I understand I think a Focus can be had at nearly the same deal you might get a Fiesta. It all depends on the kind of deal you' can negotiate at time of signing. But you're right a Focus will most probably cost a bit more overall.

Fiesta is becoming like the Golf, a huge hit in Europe but little more than a novelty in the United States.

When I bought my Fiesta back in March, the Focus, equally equipped, was about 3 grand more. I don't need back seat room anymore so the Fiesta was it for me.

I didn't need a back seat either so the Fun Factor won me over. If there had been a single bit of practicality in the decision, I would have waited for the Focus. Plus, I just like small quirky little cars.

I have to admit, I like the style of the Focus hatch more than the Fiesta. In fact, when I was at the dealership buying my Fiesta I noticed a giant banner for the new Focus. I almost cancelled my Fiesta purchase!
