Default My fiesta swallows all smokes/smells on the road

OK, I tried to use circulate cabin air button. but it switches automatically to outside air. and the moment it happens, the inside smells like other vehicles' exhaust on the road! and I have to roll the windows all the way down to let some fresh air in.
Do you have the same problem?

I always use the outside air as it keeps moisture down in the car...

I don't smell any weird smells unless I'm behind a smoker (sigs) or smoking car/truck...

I think it works exactly like it's supposed to...

You said yours automatically goes back to outside air? Is your climate controls digital? (I have a base and the old crank selectors)... If it's on defrost, many times it won't allow the car to stay in recircluation due to the moisture on the windows issues...

Thanks for the post! yeah it was on defrost mode. I need to try on regular mode and see if it happens again.

But it's going to be frustrating! unless I turn the heat on and roll down a window at the same time to avoid vapor on the windshield.

Every car I've ever owned has picked up the smells from outside the car, I don't see any way around it barring mega filtration.

I particularly dislike Diesel exhaust and cigarette smoke from other peoples cars.

I agree, but this one is so obvious. even if other cars are far enough to get fresh air.

Where I live, roadkill skunks are a problem. THAT odor lingers for weeks! And the little Fiesta will suck those fumes right in if the controls are set for bringing the outside inside. YEUUUCCHHHHH!!!

I'm sorry, I just fail to see how the Fiesta could suck in fresh air any differently than any other car out there without an odor filtration system.

It's moving through the same air as everyone else, maybe you're just noticing it more because the Fiesta still has it's new car smell so other smells just stand out more compared to that?

Never said it did. The Fiesta is just the only car I have at the moment. And it certainly sucks in the fumes.
