Hyundai puts on an Accent with the Verna hatch at Guangzhou — Autoblog

Leave it to Hyundai to make a hatch that (exterior-wise) may actually show competition with the Fiesta's styling! Expected as a 2012 model. Maybe they can step up the interior too, but I'm not holding my breath...

Definite improvement over the current model, that's for sure! As you mentioned though I'm sure we'll see the same bargain basement interior.

Surprisingly, no, it doesn't look horrible. I wonder if it has a decent feel to it as well? Would be a shame if they used nothing but hard plastics inside.

..not any more. Of all the new comers, and all the Asians, the Hyundai and Kia lines show..frankly....the most breathtaking advances in styling, engineering, QC...definitely the kid who wins the " Greatest achievement" award.

I had a Kia Rio rental for about a month and was just shocked at how well it did it's job and how well it was screwed together. It didn't have the sophistication or sheer joy that the Fiesta has, but for 'Basic transportation" it's really impressive...and far superior than the Corolla.

Little upward window behind the rear door
Creases in the sides
Dragoneye headlights
Triangular foglight or DLR (likely) insert
Trapezoid lower grille

I've seen worse car designs.

I was thinking the same thing. The Hyundai looks pretty good too, but its proportions and stance aren't quite as pleasing as the Fiesta's, IMO.

The headlights, taillights, the body crease up through the door handles....

Then I saw the interior. That IS a Fiesta steering wheel! The HVAC controls are the same location and size as the Fiesta. Hyundai is no longer innovating... they're stealing!
