I liked the Sonic except for two points... It needs a telescoping steering wheel, and the headlights look more like cheap eBay Aftermarket style versus a more homogenous smooth front lens style like pretty much any other car.

No matter how hard you polish it, its still an entry level commuter turd (that goes for us too).

The sonic seems..oh, I don't know? Too precious? The Halloween mask front end, the cutsey kick up at the base of the C pillar, the hidden rear exterior door handles, and that digital speedo...supposedly to evoke ricer racer bikes (why would THAT be an automotive inspiration?!).
There's something condescending about cars that are loaded with gimmicks, it's like the manufacturer is saying they think their target audience is too stupid to really appreciate deeper qualities, like ride and handling, or engineering, or QC so they lard it up with the obvious. I'll pass. |

While the hatch doesn't look too horrible (besides being all Chevy-y) I was behind a sedan today and they are awful. Way too narrow and crunched looking. Like it went through a baling machine once and they worked out all the wrinkles.

They don't look that bad in person. Finally seen one up close in town yesterday and I liked how it looked. I may have to wait and see what the Spark brings us first. Interested in what features it will have and how much.
